The Year of Openness: A Total RestartIn this edition:
If you caught my recent chat with Matthew Bliss about Yearly Themes, you already know my vibe for 2026: The Year of Openness. Openness is a word that means something different to everyone. To me, it represents a fundamental shift from fixating on rigid goals and instead being open to the changes and opportunities that appear as I work. Since that conversation, this “openness” has evolved into a full process of restarting. I am hitting the restart button on three core areas of my life: The Content, the Community, and my Creative Space 1. Content: Creating a Compass for CreatorsInstead of being another podcast with the same faces, I’m zooming out. Taking a bird’s-eye view of how this space moves forward. Connecting the dots between the hidden patterns to give you a compass rather than step-by-step instructions. So you have the tools and perspective to maintain your course with confidence. Because what started as an unfiltered creative space is steadily moving towards becoming Television, with rules and formulas that make you feel you have to play the same game. Orbit is no longer just about how creators succeed and more about becoming the voice of independent creators who want to express their individuality. → What is one “rule” you’re unsubscribing from? 2. Community: Conversations at the CenterLast year I launched the Community I thought you needed just to quickly realize that the vibe was off. The mistake I made was to let the platform guide what the community looked like. Turning it from hanging out with friends to an administrative task. Making it very clear that we don’t need another platform to log in to. We need more unfiltered, unrecorded time together that isn’t tied to performance. With the clarity of Orbit being for Creators in the messy middle, this is transforming into the creator trust klub. Where the main feature is a monthly community call where we can talk about the reality of being a “content creator”. → Hit reply if you want to join early. 3. Creative Space: A New Studio Built to CreateYour environment dictates your energy For all the time we’ve known each other I’ve been working in an “everything room”. Part office, living room, kitchen and sometimes a gym or crafting space. It worked, but it didn’t sing. By the time you read this, I’ll be moving into a brand new apartment, with a dedicated office space open for possibilities. I can’t wait to show you the build-out. → If you’re an interior designer or know one, let’s talk. I have a fun collaboration idea for you. What’s next? While I’m packing boxes, I’ve also been working on 3 videos that show the new direction in practice. They should be out soon. But now I want to hear from you: What’s on your horizon for the year? 💛 Valentin |
