Systems, strategies and stories for solo creators chasing freedom not metrics.
Consistency kills Creativity. That was my story for years. Maybe it’s yours too. I thought consistency would box me in. Make me robotic. Strip the joy out of making things. But after publishing over 50 episodes on Orbit for Creators and writing these letters every week, here’s what I’ve learned: Consistency is crucial for growing sustainably.
But that doesn’t mean you have to show up every Thursday at 6pm with the same format. It means to be recognizable and reliable. That’s how your audience gets to know you. That’s how you go from content to connection. Because when you do show up in a consistent way, something shifts. People don’t just watch. They start to care. They want to see the story continue. To me consistency comes in 3 flavors
TV and early YouTube was built on cadence. If the show isn’t on at the expected time - something is wrong. It is the simplest way to form a habit and create the routine to tune in. With a lot of educational content it is more about sticking to a specific area of interest. Letting people know that this is the place to learn about ____. But in a time where we are always online and never have enough time Creators start to stand out by delivering a consistent vibe in their own unique voice. Each one on it’s own is powerful but if you can hit all three, you become unstoppable. I started to feel this effect during season 2 of Orbit, published last year, when I got so many comments from people saying: “You’re so consistent.” And it started to build momentum. Because the hardest part isn’t continuously showing up, Now that I understand this better I’m ready for an era of consistency. If this resonated, hit reply and tell me: → What’s your biggest friction point with consistency? As always, thanks for reading. 💛 Valentin P.S. Forward this to a creator friend who’s figuring out their cadence. Sometimes all we need is a rhythm we can return to. P.P.S. What challenges do you face as a creator right now? |
